Fishville Adds Sick Fish & Medicine

Zynga rolled out a controversial update to their hit aquarium game Fishville, earlier today. Now, instead of fish simply dying after they go too long without food, they will instead first get sick. Fish will stay sick for three days, and during that time, a player can feed them medicine to bring them back to full health.

Sounds nice, right? The catch is that along with this change, the Fishville team also shortened the feeding times for many of the long-term fish. Many fish that used to require feeding once every two or three days will now need to be fed daily.

The net result of all this is that fish take longer to actually die, but will require medicine after a shorter period of time without food.

There are a variety of ways to get medicine. It can be sent to friends as a gift, received as a daily bonus, or purchased (an eight-pack costs 1 SD$). If you have a real medical emergency on your hands, you can request medicine from your friends.

So… what do you think? Good change, or bad change? Let us know on our Fishville Forum.
