Farmville Adds Constructible French Maison Home

Farmville developer Zynga added a new constructible building in today’s update: A French Maison home! The construction process works very similarly to the Horse Stable, added previously.

To begin, players purchase a Maison Frame for 5,000 coins. Clicking on this frame shows players what materials they still need to finish construction. Players need 10 Slate Tiles, 10 Paned Windows, 10 Aged Bricks, 10 Weathered Boards and 10 Clinging Vines, altogether.

There are a handful of ways to obtain these items. First off, players can post a Facebook news feed item specifically requesting one. Any Farmville neighbor that clicks on the news feed post will up your material count by one. Players can also gift materials to their Farmville neighbors via the gift screen. Similar to the stables, the two gifts you have available to send are randomized, so you may need to ask around to find a friend who has gift access to the item you need. Finally, for the impatient, the materials can be purchased for 1 FV$ each.

The Maison home is a bit strange to me. The horse stables were a special case, because constructing one gave you access to an important new building with purpose. But once the Maison is constructed, it is just another decoration. In fact, players that want to skip the entire process can do so, and purchase a Maison for 50 FV$ flat.
