Farmville Introduces Co-Op Farming!

Farmville developer Zynga released a major addition to their flagship farming title, this afternoon: Co-Op Farming! The feature is such a big deal that it has been given a premium placement in the Farmville tool menu, giving the delete tool the boot:

Co-Op farming might just be the biggest addition made to Farmville since the game launched, last summer. Features like item collections, crop mastery, achievements, and constructible buildings all gave the game more depth, but they didn’t do too much to make the game more genuinely social. This new cooperative farming looks to change all that. We’ve got the full scoop:

When players click on the co-op farming menu icon they should see a list of team tasks available for them to start. (The feature has been so popular that some glitches have been found, that’s why there are no jobs listed in our screenshots below). After selecting a task to start, players can then invite friends to work with them to complete the job within the limited amount of provided time.

For example: A Pack of Pickled Patty Pans requires players to harvest 1500 Pattypan Squash crops. To earn a Gold Medal, the task must be completed within 1 day 7 hours. Silver in 1 day 23 hours, Bronze in 2 days 23 hours. So this is clearly a task that will require a team effort. From the job’s progress screen, players can see how many of the crop have been seeded (to prevent over-seeding), and how many have been harvested. Jobs also have a message board, so team members can leave messages and coordinate with one another.

Players rewards for completing a job are coins and XP, with bonus coins and XP doled out for silver and gold medals. Many jobs also provide bonus items and decorations when the job is completed. A Chef Statue and Grape Sheep are confirmed rewards

So far known jobs are: Pumpin Pie Blowout (Harvest 1400 Pumpkins), Tossin’ Tomatoes, A Pack of Pickled Patty Pans (Harvest 1500 Pattypan Squash), Town Greening, and Fashion Bug. All of these jobs are simply harvesting a certain number of crops. It seems a safe bet that future jobs might revolve around collecting from animals, or planting flowers.

Three new co-op farming achievements were also added. Employee of the Month yellow ribbon requires players to complete 5 jobs. Fabulous Foreman requires players to earn a Gold Medal on 5 jobs they started. Best of the Rest requires players be an MVP on 1 job.

We’ll have more in-depth details on cooperative Farmville farming soon! Hopefully Zynga sorts out the issue with disappearing jobs. Soon all players should be able to start co-op jobs.

    -Farmville is not working right.
-Don’t want to seed new crops because they too may disappear.
-If the problem can’t be resolve what will become of all my hard work?

Farmville lost 19 of my co-op jobs. I am discussed with it all. I had to worked really hard to complete each job. Whatever the problem i hope that it will be corrected soon and that I will receive all my jobs back today.

    I DID 2 JOBS

    1) GOLD
    RECEIVED REWARDS
I HAPPENED TO BE THE LAST ONE TO HARVEST SO I RECEIVED THE REWARDS IMMEDIATELY IN THE GAME

    2) I STARTED THE JOB.
GOLD – GRAPE SHEEP WAS IN GIFT BOX
    WENT INTO CO-OP BUTTON
SAID TO COLLECT REWARD AND THE BOX DISAPPEARED
RECEIVED AN EMAIL TO COLLECT REWARD.
CLICKED THE EMAIL AND IT TOOK ME INTO THE GAME…. TO NOWHERE

    3) BRONZE
    WENT INTO CO-OP BOX
    SAID TO COLLECT REWARD.
    NOTHING HAPPENED
    RECEIVED EMAIL AGAIN
CLICKED THE BOX AND IT TOOK ME INTO THE GAME…. TO NOWHERE

NOT WORTH THE TIME OR ENERGY UNTIL THEY FIX THE PROBLEM

I HAVE ALSO HAD REWARDS POP UP THAT I WON 1000 XP…BUT I COULDN’T FIND THEM ANYWHERE. I KNEW EXACTLY HOW MANY XP I HAD AND IT DIDN’T CHANGE AUTOMATICALLY SO I HAVE NO IDEA WHERE THEY WENT.

BE CAREFUL USING I PHONE DO NOT TRUST IT I LOOSE A LOT OF STUFF.
ITS GOOD FOR HARVESTING AND PLOWING ONLY …. IF YOU STAY IN SNYC.
