Happy Pets Adds New Mystery Gifts

Happy Pets developer Crowdstar added four new mystery gifts to the Happy Pets gift tab, this week. The gifts come in four categories, so players won’t know the specific item they are sending or receiving, but they at least know what type of item is inside.

The four categories are: Outdoor Decor, Furniture, Wall/Floor, and Accessories.

This mystery gift split is very similar to a change Crowdstar made to sister game Happy Island last week. That game also received four new mystery gifts with more specific categories.

Happy Island Adds Summer Sports Attractions

Happy Island developer Crowdstar is celebrating the summer season with a collection of summer sports attractions. To keep everyone’s island tourists from getting too healthy, other attractions, including a pancake restaurant, have also been added.

The new attractions are: Children’s Slide, Volleyball Net, Pharaoh’s Palace, Imperial Shrine, Tuscan Villa, Street Ballin’, and The Short Stack. Like all Happy Island attractions, these can be upgraded over time. So that basic tennis court might turn into a complex stadium, if a player has enough coins to upgrade.

Happy Island Adds Island Bank Premium Building

Happy Island developer Crowdstar has made their island sim, which was already pretty painless, even more easy to play via the new Offshore Island Bank.

The bank is a premium item, costing 99 FB$ ($9.90). But, it allows players to collect all the money bags on one island with a single click. The drawback (besides its price tag), is that only 75% of the money is collected – the other 25% is eaten up by a “banker’s fee.”

Players are free to spend their money how they like, but in our opinion this is a much weaker offering that most of Crowdstar’s premium Happy Island offers. Players can click once and only collect 75%, or click each attraction and collect 100%? Plus, it costs $10 in real money? And it only works on a single island, when most players have many? No thanks. To justify the $10 price tag, this bank should come with no collection penalty.

It should be noted that this 25% fee can be reduced by upgrading the bank. But without purchasing one (and we certainly aren’t going to), there is no way to know what that upgrading entails. If anyone has the scoop, leave a comment and fill us in.

My Town Adds Beach Buildings

My Town developer Broken Bulb used the first of their two weekly updates to add a few more beach-themed items, today. Players can now purchase a Beach Hut, and a Beach Resort.

Blueberry and Raspberry bushes were also released, but they are only available to players level 20 or higher.

FarmVille Adds More Japanese Garden Items

In a surprise Monday afternoon update (FarmVille typically updates Tuesdays and Thursdays), Zynga added another handful of Asian themed items, further fleshing out the game’s Japanese Garden expansion.

The new items are: Japanese Home, Paper Wall Home, High Bridge Pond, Momiji Tree, Moss Rock, Tiny Dragon, Sand & Stone, Yellow Dome, Egret, and Daikon crop. Note that the Egret is a real, harvestable animal, but the Momiji Tree is purely decorative.

The Daikon crop can be purchased for 65 coins, grows to maturity in 8 hours, and earns 1 XP, and 133 coins when harvested.

All these items expire in 11 days, along with the the rest of the Japanese Garden goods.

Happy Pets Adds Buildable Dino Den

Happy Pets developer Crowdstar has given pet owners a new construction project, similar to the Horse Stable released last month. But unlike horses, this time players are constructing a home for a considerably more exotic animal: dinosaurs!

Players begin construction of their Dino Den by purchasing the frame for 800 coins. After that, a whopping 80 construction materials must be acquired. 10 each of: Torches, Cement, Hammers, Drills, Rocks, Rivets, I-Beams, and Shovels. Players can send these materials to one another via the Happy Pets gift tab, or request a specific material by making a Facebook wall post. Players can also opt to purchase the Dino Den outright for 320 FB$ ($32.00).

Once construction is finished, players are rewarded with a free Green Triceratops dinosaur. 15 more dinosaurs are available in the Happy Pets store, for a mixture of coins and FB$. The cheapest coin dinosaur is still quite expensive at 37,795 coins, however. Current dinosaur varieties are T-Rex and Triceratops, available in colors such as blue, white, black, teal, red, and more.

Cafe World Introduces Special Permanent Boosts

Cafe World developer Zynga released two very powerful (and very expensive!) special items today. Both provide players with a permanent bonus.

The No Spoil Genie prevents food from ever spoiling, no matter how long it sits on the stove. The No Clean Fairy prevents stoves from ever requiring cleaning – no clicking required. The genie is for sale for 145 Cafe Cash (about $25), and the fairy is for sale for 95 Cafe Cash (about $17).

Both are limited time offers, and are only available until June 28th. They are for sale under the new “Special” tab of the functional items shop.

Petville Adds Wedding Props

PetVille developer Zynga released a large collection of wedding items this week, giving pet owners everything they need to hold a luxurious outdoor wedding ceremony.

New decorations include: cherry blossom trees, animated wedding guests, red rose centerpieces, wedding tables and chairs, doves, isle runners, rose petals, wedding cake, champaign buckets, and plenty more.

Bridesmaid dresses, wedding dresses, and tuxedos were also added. If there was every any doubt about who the most important person at a wedding is, notice how all the male tuxedos are for sale for coins, while many of the wedding dress components are only for sale for Pet Cash. Zynga certainly knows their audience!

Restaurant City Releases Lounge Expansion

Restaurant City developer Playfish released an extensive lounge expansion this week, with much more to see and collect than just new decorations (although there are plenty of those, too).

The centerpiece of the expansion is the new Lounge Bar. Players gain access when they master the Coco Colada drink recipe all the way up to level 10. The Lounge Bar allows players to hire one of their friends to serve as a bartender. More drinks are displayed behind the bar as players master them, unlocking special bonuses.

Speaking of drinks, a new Mint ingredient has been added, allowing for a new Mint Breeze drink recipe, among others.

New lounge decorations include: Jazz Singer, Saxophone Player, Bouncer, Night Lounge Lightning, Night Lounge Door, Funky Lounge seating, and plenty more.

One final nifty addition – players that master the Boston Cooler drink unlock a Night Sculpture. As long as the sculpture is in your restaurant, it will be nighttime outside. Neat!
