August 24 FarmVille Mystery Game Update

The FarmVille mystery game has once again been updated with a new set of prizes. As always, players can spend 20 FV$ to throw a dart at a wall of balloons. Every balloon is guaranteed to contain an exclusive item. But some items are more rare than others.

So… what prizes does the mystery game hold this week? We have the scoop:

Stone Pool (Rare)
Pig Trampoline (Rare)
Kid’s Playhouse (Uncommon)
Pool House (Uncommon)
Pot Belly Pig (Common)
Miniature Pig (Common)

FarmVille Releases Storage Cellar!

FarmVille developer Zynga has finally flipped the switch on the game’s long-promised storage cellar feature! With a maximum storage capacity of 500 items and a very small land footprint, the cellar should be the ultimate FarmVille storage solution.

Every player has been gifted a free cellar to kick things off, and the cellar is also for sale in the FarmVille marketplace for 10,000 coins. Initially, the cellar has no storage space – players must increase it by collection shovels. Each shovel collected boosts the cellar’s storage space by 2, meaning a total of 250 will be needed to achieve the maximum capacity of 500 items.

Shovels can be purchased in packs of 10 for 5 FV$, or players can gift them to one another in packs of 2 for free.

As an added bonus, as players collect shovels from their FarmVille neighbors, they are not just increasing their storage space. Exclusive rewards are also up for grabs:

10 shovels – Mole
20 shovels – Crystal Rock
30 shovels – Miner Sheep
60 shovels – Cave Gnome
100 shovels – Antique Tracter

FarmVille Releases Summer Fun Items

FarmVille developer Zynga has apparently decided that summer celebrations are better late than never, and has added a collection of Summer Fun decorations to the FarmVille marketplace.

The new decorations are: Backyard Fort, Ice Cream Shop, Flamingo, Bouncing Castle, Dinosaur Slide, Fireflies, Octopus Pool, and Summer Campsite. These decorations all expire in 7 days.

It’s worth pointing out that the Flamingo is a proper, harvestable animal. Not the plastic variety that most people are probably expecting to find on a farm!

FarmVille Gives Players a Free Mystery Game Dart

FarmVille developer Zynga announced today that all players are being given a free mystery game dart – a 20 FV$ value! The giveaway seems to be a little glitchy, however. Many players, us included, didn’t actually receive our dart. Doh. Lots of other players are reporting success though, so it is likely that the bugs will be ironed out soon.

To receive your free mystery game dart, players first have to select the mystery game from the FarmVille marketplace. It has a listed price of 20 FV$, but players aren’t charged when they first click to select the mystery game. Instead, clicking the “play” button brings up the minigame interface. It is here that players are supposed to be given their free throw.

FarmVille’s July 3 Mystery Game Update

Another week means another update to FarmVille’s mystery game. For those that haven’t been keeping up, the mystery game replaced the old mystery boxes, but the concept is pretty much the same. Players can spend 20 FV$ to throw a dart at a wall of balloons. Every balloon is guaranteed to contain one of six exclusive items, but some of the prizes are more rare than others.

All of this week’s prizes have a “mini” theme, and all but one of the new additions is an animal. The new prizes are:

- Babydoll Sheep
- Mini Donkey
- Mini Stallion
- Miniature Goat
- Miniature Pig
- Pygmy Marmosets

All these mini animals have new designs (the sheep is especially adorable), and aren’t just shrunken down versions of their regular sized models.

Cheers to FarmVille Freak for the prize pic.

FarmVille Adds Beach Tile & More

FarmVille developer Zynga continued releasing New England decorations this week, including a new sandy beach tile! It might seem a little weird to be farming on the beach, but it certainly does help give farms more coastal New England charm.

The new items are: Lady Slippers crop, Hearloom [sic] Apple tree, Miniature Horse, Stone Villa, Village Center, Flower Bridge, Rose Arch, Quilts, and the Beach farm tile. Zynga almost certainly meant for the new tree to be “Heirloom Apple,” but as of now the misspelling remains in the game.

The new Lady Slippers crop costs 70 coins to plant, grows to maturity in 6 hours, and earns 115 coins and 1 XP when sold.

FarmVille Adds Three Crafting Ribbons

FarmVille developer Zynga snuck in three new ribbons for players to earn in the game’s most recent update. All three relate to the game’s new crafting system, giving players even more reason to check out the major new feature. The new ribbons are: Crafty, Best Buyer, and Super Salesman.

Crafty:
Craft 5 goods to earn the yellow ribbon.

Super Salesman:
Sell 5 crafted goods to earn the yellow ribbon.

Best Buyer:
Buy 5 crafted goods from friends to earn the yellow ribbon.

What do you think the blue ribbon requirements for these three achievements will be? Leave a comment and let us know!

FarmVille Adds Two Permanent Crops

With social game developers shifting increasing amounts of their attention to themed, limited edition expansions, it can be easy to forget the days when new items were added “just because.” No timer, no special theme, just new goodies to play around with. FarmVille developer Zynga reminded us this week that these types of additions are always an option, by adding two new permanent crops: Chickpeas, and Heirloom Carrots.

Chickpeas are available to players that have mastered Soybeans, and are level 10 or higher. They can be planted for 80 coins, grow to maturity in 20 hours, and can be harvested for 2 XP and 210 coins. Chickpea mastery requires a total of 2400 harvests.

Heirloom Carrots are available to players that have harvested carrots and are level 57 or higher. They can be planted for 110 coins, grow to maturity in 12 hours, and can be harvested for 1XP and 210 coins. Heirloom Carrot mastery requires a total of 8400 harvests.

FarmVille Releases More New England Items

FarmVille developer Zynga added another batch of items to the game’s ever-growing collection of New England props, last night. These newest additions are available for 10 more days – several days longer than the first few sets of New England items released.

The new items are: Hollyhocks crop, Puffin, Antique Shop, Crab Shack, Coastal Beach, Trawler Gnome, and Nelly Moser tree.

The new Hollyhocks crop IS available for crop mastery, and expires a little later as a result – it will be around until August 12th. A total of 3000 must be harvested to complete all three mastery levels. Hollyhocks cost 210 coins to plant, grow to maturity in 18 hours, and yield 2 XP and 350 coins when sold.

New July 27 FarmVille Mystery Prizes

FarmVille developer Zynga once again swapped out the prizes in their new balloon-popping minigame, giving players the opportunity to win a new batch of exclusive goodies.

The new prizes are: Angora Goat, Beach Cottage, Hooded Merganser, Mill, Ornate Cottage, and Carriage.

One interesting note about this mystery game – there is a line of FarmVille ribbons players can earn for opening a specific number of mystery boxes. This new mystery game *doesn’t* count towards that ribbon. So, for now, it is impossible to obtain. Hopefully the mystery game will be tweaked soon, to give credit towards the blue ribbon.

Cheers to FarmVilleFreak for the pic.
