Happy Pets Now Selling Random Cat Designs

Happy Pets developer Crowdstar seems to have devised the ultimate solution for players that want a unique cat design. A new Random Cat option has been added to the Happy Pets store!

When players click on the Random Cat store icon, the game automatically generates a unique, multi-colored cat. Players can then adopt the cat for $15 if they like the design. If players don’t like the kitten that was created, they can back out and click the random option again to see an entirely new kitten.

Some of the new random kitties can be pretty ugly – a random mish-mash of clashing colors and designs. But it didn’t take us very many tries for the random generator to create a very cute-looking purple kitten with yellow paws. Players can create kitten designs randomly as many times as they like until they uncover the perfect combination.

Happy Pets Releases Pet Replicator

Cloning technology might not be practical in real life, but that hasn’t stopped Crowdstar from rolling out the feature in Happy Pets. It makes sense, considering that this is a game that allows people to keep bears, dinosaurs, unicorns, and other fantastical creatures.

The feature is pretty simple. Players can purchase a Pet Replicator for $12, and use it on any pet they own. The player will then receive an exact copy of that pet in their Gift Box. The price might be a little high, but Happy Pets is full of rare, very limited pets. This replicator is the only way to receive a copy of a pet that is no longer for sale.

PetVille Adds Four More Rooms

The space race is on in Facebook pet games, it seems. Hot on the heels of Crowdstar adding several new indoor and outdoor spaces to their pet game Happy Pets, Zynga has followed suit. Players can now purchase four more rooms for their PetVille homes, bringing the total amount of indoor space up to a whopping 16 rooms. This doesn’t even count the attic and the magic doors within.

It’s hard to imagine where Facebook pet games can go from here. At what point does the addition of more rooms just become a little silly? 20? 40? More rooms are nice, since they give players more space to decorate and individualize. But we think Zynga is on the right track with their Magic Door system. It allows players to have more and more space to work with, without requiring their pets to live in sprawling mega mansions.

Happy Pets Adds Seven More Rooms

Happy Pets developer Crowdstar doesn’t mess around when it comes to giving players more space. They don’t dole our rooms and yards one at a time, and make players jump through tons of hoops to unlock access. Oh no. They just dump loads of space on players all at once.

This philosophy was on full display today, when four more indoor rooms and three more outdoor yards were released in Happy Pets. This brings the total number of indoor and outdoor spaces to an impressive 23, if you count the attic and nursery.

The new yards unlock at level 65, 75, and 85. The new rooms unlock at level 80, 90, 100, and 110. Players can also pay some Facebook Credits to unlock access early.

PetVille Survey Hints at Future Magic Door Themes

PetVille developer Zynga is running a survey, asking players where they think they next PetVille Magic Door should lead. It is always possible that Zynga will go in a completely different direction, but if previous Zynga surveys are anything to go by, it is likely that several of the choices presented will eventually be developed and released.

The choices are:

- Fantasy (Castles, Unicorns & Dragons)
- Magic School (Wizards, Spells, & Magic Wands)
- Greek / Roman
- Underwater / Atlantis
- Outer Space
- Egypt
- Middle Ages or Renaissance
- Pony Stable
- Halloween (Haunted House)
- Winter Wonderland (North Pole / Snow)
- Western (Wild West & Cowboys)

Zynga has also given players the opportunity to write in a magic door suggestion of their own. We encourage all SGC readers to put in a vote for a pirate theme.

Happy Pets Introduces Pet Bears

Happy Pets developer Crowdstar introduced an entirely new pet variety today: bear cubs! Perhaps not the most realistic pet to be added, but there is no denying that these bears are considerably cuter and more cuddly than the real thing would be.

So far just four bear cub varieties are available: Polar Bear, Brown Bear, Black Bear, and Psychedelic Bear. The three standard breeds are for sale for $4.80, while the more outlandish Psychedelic Bear is for sale for $6. If these new bears follow the pattern of other Happy Pets animals, we’ll be seeing many more bear variations, including unique color schemes and sizes, over the coming weeks and months.

Happy Pets Releases Many New Horses

Happy Pets developer Crowdstar added 13 premium horses to the game’s pet store today. All 13 are permanent additions, meaning there is no need to rush and purchase your favorite before supplies are exhausted. Prices range from $5 to $6.20, depending on how exotic the pet is. Having a pet unicorn or pegasus isn’t cheap!

The new pets are: Pinto Clydesdale, Amethyst Appaloosa, Psychedelic Horse, Bronze Zebra, Zebra, Cherry Horse, Orange Pinto Horse, Violet Horse, Snow Clydesdale Appaloosa, White Clydesdale Pegasus, Cotton Unicorn, Jet Black Pegasus, and Jet Black Unicorn.

Paying over $5 for one virtual pet seems a little pricy to us, but Crowdstar’s limited edition pets sell out on a regular basis, so perhaps we’re in the minority. If you pick up one of these new horses, leave a comment and let us know what you think.

PetVille Releases Midnight Crypt Items

PetVille developer Zynga released a creepy collection of Midnight Crypt decorations, earlier this week. The items don’t officially belong to the Twilight parody “Dusk” item set, but with an emphasis on skulls, bats, and other creepy imagery, the two certainly go well together.

New items include new crypt wallpaper and flooring, several different potions, stained glass windows, candelabras, gothic portraits, a Poltergeist TV, a hanging bat, and more.

A new Midnight Crypt mystery crate is also for sale for 20 Pet Cash. The crate is guaranteed to contain one of five exclusive items. Players have a 10% chance of obtaining a rare decoration, 30% chance uncommon, and a 60% chance of receiving a common item.

Happy Pets Introduces Social Breeding

Happy Pets developer Crowdstar finally released its social breeding feature, giving players many more options for gaining unique kittens, puppies, and other baby pets.

The feature itself is pretty straightforward. When visiting a neighbor’s pet house, players can now click on any of their neighbor’s pets and select the new “breed” icon. From here, players just have to select which pet of the opposite sex they want to complete the coupling.

After paying 200 coins to send a breeding request, the process is completed. If your Happy Pets friend accepts the breeding request, both players will receive a new pet basket if the breeding is successful.

Happy Pets Introduces Red Iguana & More

Happy Pets developer Crowdstar introduced a new line of Jumbo Albino pets, along with a new Red Iguana, today. But players can’t just purchase them from the Happy Pets shop. Instead, they need the help of their friends.

Players have a new trapped pet in their home’s main living room. If players can get all 7 locks open with 72 hours (three days), they will win one of the new pets, chosen at random. Players can have their friends help them clear the locks (one lock per friend), or pay FB$ to unlock them automatically.

In addition to the Red Iguana, the new Jumbo Albino pets are: Duck, Horse, Hamster, Pig, and Turtle.
